Nubian Dairy Goats

We’re in our humble beginnings of establishing a micro dairy here at Flat Rock Creek Ranch. Follow along as we navigate breeding for milk production, building our first milk parlor, refining an in-house creamery, and licensing! But first things first… Nubian Goats!

We first began our foray into goats’ milk in Spring of 2023. Nubians, being known for their higher butterfat content, along with their charming pendulous ears, had me hooked on the breed for my first introduction to goat-keeping and milking. We purchased one Nubian goat, CiCi, but learned they need goat compadres, so we went to buy two more, but instead came home with four. Par for the course for farmers and homesteaders —heh! Fast forward to end of 2025 and we have one kidding season under our belts, a second breeding season under way, and a few goat sales in the books. A healthy beginning to the growth of a Hill Country micro dairy.

WE DO NOT SELL MILK!

But we’re working on it! Join my newsletter for ranch and dairy updates and to be the first to know when we have milk and cheese available.
